DOMINO’S PIZZA LAUNCHES “ZERO CONTACT DELIVERY” SERVICE

The last couple of months have been very difficult for everyone due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 or Novel Corona.

Just like any other industry, it has affected the food industry terribly around the globe. People are really concerned about their safety because of the easy transmission of coronavirus from an infected person to a healthy person.

This leads to developing concern among customers regarding coming in contact with delivery experts while receiving an order.

As the delivery expert goes from one door to another for the delivery of the product, there is a slight possibility that he can get infected by an infected customer or by coming in contact with an infected surface and further transmit the virus to other customers unknowingly.

Similarly, staff or employees are also concerned about their safety while dealing with customers.

Therefore, by keeping all this in mind, one of the world’s biggest QSR brand Domino’s Pizza is giving first priority to the health and safety of their customers and employees.

The brand has now introduced the “Zero Contact Delivery” service.

This means now customers can have their favourite Domino’s meal delivered hot and fresh to their doorstep like usual but without any direct contact between them and Delivery Expert.

“We understand the trust our customers place in us to deliver safe, freshly prepared meals and take our responsibility seriously.” Says the Brand. (Australia)

After Australian branches implementing the Zero Contact Delivery service, Domino’s Pizza in Britain and Ireland also introduced the option.

“Domino’s understands the trust you place in us to deliver safe, freshly prepared pizza and takes this responsibility incredibly seriously. Given the evolving COVID-19 situation, I wanted to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues is always our top priority. Domino’s already has very high hygiene standards and strict food handling procedures.” says David Wild ( CEO at Domino’s Pizza Group Limited, United Kingdom)

Similarly, In India, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), the licensee for Domino’s Pizza, has also launched Zero Contact Delivery across 1325 restaurants during this coronavirus outbreak.

“In these difficult times, we have put in place even more stringent hygiene and sanitation protocols in our stores and for delivery. In addition, we have today (on Monday) launched zero-contact delivery. Customers can place an online order through the Domino’s app, ask for zero-contact delivery and pay digitally. We will then deliver the Domino’s pizzas to customers without any physical contact with our guests,” says Pratik Pota ( JFL Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director)

So How Zero Contact Delivery Works?

1. While making an online order, the customer needs to click on “ Zero Contact Delivery” button in the app.

2. After reaching at the customer’s address, the delivery expert will simply keep their order on the doorstep or on a clean surface and move back to a safe distance of 2 meters.

3. Then, he’ll let the customer know that their order has arrived via phone call and ensure that they have collected the order.

1. To make it 100% contactless customer needs to pay online using credit card, PayPal or Paytm (for India).

2. Also, Zero Contact Delivery does not cost extra.

Conclusion:

In the end, I can say that it is a great initiative taken by Domino’s Pizza for the well being of their customers and staff. They truly lived upto their brand image. Stay Safe, have a safe delivery and enjoy your pizza.
